Do your clinic treat foreign patients?
Yes. We support foreign patients by all means to get cured from all diseases.
How to fix appointment for treatment?
Patient should send email describing disease history, MRI & previous reports, picture of infected area. After email discussion, patient can fix appointment with doctor.
Do your have online consultation facility?
Yes. A foreigner can pay for online and doctor will confirm time and date for online consultation.
Can medicines sent through courier out of India?
No. As rules related to Ayurvedic / herbal medicines are vary in every country, it’s difficult to send medicines out of India. But if your friend / relatives are coming from India, they can carry medicines for you.
How should a foreigner pay?
Foreigner need not to pay in advance to confirm their appointment. You can pay fees by internet banking, wire transfer or cash before or after arrival in Pune. We don’t have card payment or PayPal facility right now.
What does the cost includes?
In our clinic, the cost includes only treatment part in our clinic. Accommodation, food, transport, reports, etc. needs to be paid extra.
Can patient travel all over in India between two follow ups?
Can my international insurance cover this treatment?
As Kshar sutra treatment is not allowed out of India, international insurance may not cover this treatment.
Were to apply for Indian visa?
You can apply online for Indian e-visa on Indian Government’s official website. Patients should complete all visa formalities themselves. Medical or AYUSH visa is provided by Indian Government for treatment. Many patients apply for tourist visa as they want to travel all over India.
Which visa is for my relative coming with me?
It is always recommended to come with a relative / friend as medical attendant to help. They should apply for e-visa for medical attendant. Letter can be provided from our clinic.
How to reach Pune?
Nearest international airports – Pune and Mumbai. Mumbai-Pune approximate roadway distance 250 km, travel time 4 hr. Many cab companies like KK Travels, UBER, OLA, provide service between these two cities. You need active mobile SIM card to book cab through their app. UBER and OLA have service counters near exit gate of every airport. They can book cab for you.
Do you provide accommodation?
We don’t provide accommodation. We recommend Ayurvedic nature resort near Pune. Also patient can book hotels and self contained apartment online as per their comfort. Koregaon park, Senapati Bapat road, Kothrud are safe areas for foreigners. You can search apartments on Airbnb and hotels online.
Can your agent plan / book my trip to India?
Agent can be appointed who can book apartment or hotel and pick up /drop from airport as per your comfort. Also he can make arrangements if you want to travel all over India. Once you finalize your dates, the agent can contact you for further bookings. Also, you can plan your trip with online travel agents like Make my trip, Expedia, Yatra

How much is the pain during Kshar sutra treatment?
As the medicated thread has cutting and healing action, pain will be there. We have modified traditional Kshar sutra treatment to be a less painful. Our patients say that the pain of Kshar sutra is very less as compared with surgery. This pain is manageable by pain killer tablets.
Which are precautions about food selection?
Foreigners should be very cautious about food selection in India. Strictly avoid street food, spicy food, drinking of tap water. Foreigners should eat food in decent restaurants. They should select packed food and drinking water to avoid food contamination. Fruits must be eaten only after proper washing with water. Fruits are better that drinking juices as juices may have contamination.
What is the cost of Kshar sutra treatment?
Cost and duration depend on the length of infected track. So that can be fixed only after physical examination. But you can get estimate by sending your information. Each patient is different. So in our clinic cost may vary patient to patient.
Why there is so much difference in the cost of Kshar sutra treatment in India?
Many clinics / hospitals in India may run marketing policy to quote low price which may be the cost of the procedure day only. They don’t disclose cost of hospital stay, medicines, duration of treatment, recurring follow up charges, etc. In our clinic, we quote the whole price. So be cautious and always take decision only after the whole quotation.
Can I get kshar sutra treatment in my country?
No. This is traditional Indian Ayurvedic treatment. So it is available only in India. Also your country don’t allow to practice this treatment.
Can I take medicated threads with me in my country & continue changing there?
No. This not recommended at all. This treatment is not just changing threads but needs doctor’s keen observation time to time. Any shortcut in the Kshar sutra treatment may reduce chances of permanent cure of fistula & pilonidal sinus.
Is there any way to reduce the duration of treatment?
No. It’s not the just a cutting procedure. Permanent cure of fistula requires removal of infection & creation of healthy tissue. Body takes its own time to create healthy tissue. Also doctor’s observation is important through out the treatment.

Is there any home treatment for fistula?
Patientt should not waste time and money in the hope that there is any home treatment / remedy which can cure fistula automatically. Healthy diet, proper cleaning can help body to heal the wound partly. But can not cure fistula in ano permanently.
Can any surgery cure fistula?
Search for modern surgical techniques in the world itself tells about the failure rate of their previous techniques. In Spite of very high failure percentage, modern surgical techniques are followed in huge number all over the world.
Is there any possibility of any structural change in anal area after the wound healed completely?
The focus of Kshar sutra treatment is to remove fistula, infection and heal the area without functional loss. So when the wound heals by natural way, we can’t order body to heal the area exactly as it was originally. After any surgical attempt (by any technique) in the anal area always leaves some structural changes / marks.
Are there recurrence or incontinence chance?
Kshar sutra treatment has more than 90% success rate. So there is very less chance of recurrence or incontinence.
